POPAI has announced
its new General Manager, Lee McClymont (nee McAllistair), who brings more than
a decade of blue chip Shopper Marketing and Insights leadership to the role.
Formerly of specialist agency ShopAbility, and with senior
brand and specialty retailer experience, Lee joins the POPAI leadership team on
24 February, with outgoing General Manager Darren Pinks departing on 3 April.
POPAI Chairman Sarah Nichols, of Brown Forman says Lee’s
contribution will be key to supporting the continuing evolution of POPAI as the
Australian home of Shopper Marketing, and the only industry body advocating for
the Marketing at Retail sector.
“Retail in 2015 is about reaching the shopper wherever they
are, and delivering value as they define it. Lee brings in-depth understanding
of what makes shoppers tick, and what brands, agencies, suppliers and retailers
need to do about it.”

Lee takes over the helm from outgoing General Manager Darren
Pinks, formerly of Lion.

ABOUT LEE McCLYMONT
As a shopper marketing and insights specialist, Lee has
contributed countless articles and publications on Shopper Marketing and
Insights to the FMCG industry and other sectors. She has worked agency side,
brand side, and driving improved customer experience in specialty retail,
bringing a holistic perspective from all sides of the desk.
Formerly of Sydney agency ShopAbility,
Lee has consulted to major global and national FMCG clients including Sony,
Blackmores, Warner Bros, Mars, Lion (formerly National Foods), Orica, PepsiCo,
Foster’s Group, Coca Cola, and Parmalat. She also brings a wealth of blue chip
client-side experience in category, channel , brand and commercial strategy to
her new role as General Manager of POPAI.
Most recently, Lee has spent the past
2.5 years driving continuous improvement in company-owned stores for world’s #2
coatings and paint company, Valspar.
