Welcome to the new RETAIL INSIDE OUT Series of events from POPAI
ANZ. The second in this series is an exceptional event at the Telstra Discovery Centre, Melbourne. All of our events include a private and behind
the scenes tour of stand out retailers and their environments. Tours will be
accompanied by insightful presentations from industry leading local
and/or international speakers, including the agencies behind the store experiences.

Telstra and his team at the Melbourne Discovery Store in the
CBD's Bourke Street. Melbourne Discovery is Telstra's newest flagship store that is
leading the way in an amazing future retail environment. From incredible
technology to local community involvement, the store really defines what
Telstra is all about. Understanding the store, it’s learnings to date and it’s future is
something you don’t want to miss. And a special breakfast,
courtesy of Telstra, will be served! The store tour is followed by a look at best in class interactive
retail experiences from Telstra and around the globe with TRO's Rebecca
About the speakers -
Director of Retail Operations, Telstra, and his team*
Andrew commenced his Telstra career in our Retail Network after moving from the
Aviation Industry as a Flight Instructor. In the 9 years he has been with
Telstra, he has held several positions in both the Retail Store Network, and
A real passion for customer and frontline focused
innovation, Andrew moved into the Operations central support team and has
worked in Workforce Planning, Systems and Technology, and Strategic roles
before becoming the Director of Retail Operations in 2014. As the sponsor
of Telstra’s Future Customer Environment, he is dedicated to moving away from
omnichannel as a strategy, instead turning it into an everyday mindset.
Andrew and his team launched their strategy publically in October 2014 with the
opening of the Sydney Discovery Store, Telstra’s flagship with innovations such
as Tap&Take (allowing customers to move seamlessly from physical to
digital) and the service experience design principle of ‘Never leave the
customer’s side’ with human focused technology such as the tablet companion and
mobile card facilities. Melbourne Discovery Store opened on November 30th

Rynehart is an experiential marketing expert. Her career spans 17 years
bringing brands worldwide to life in a live environment and she now runs
the Australian arm of TRO Group. Rebecca and the team work across multiple
markets with clients including Telstra, Vogue, BMW, and Google driving
innovation in retail and creating moments that go far beyond the traditional
transactional relationship between retail and shopper.
